This move in visa number is dramatic and not to mention scary. It also has the hint that dates will retrogress in FY2008, there is no way that everyone will be processed by the end of this year.
If I were you I would keep the earliest priority date and not worry about the category its in, but then its just me and my choice :). You can judge yourself.

I think it can be. When starting the employment based GC process, one of the question asked was ... has any family member ever applied for your immigration petition in the past. Just an educated guess... check with an attorney
This is not the purpose of this question you mentioned. This can't be done as is specifically not allowed in INA to transfer priority date from FB to EB. This is written into the INA 203(b)(1)(2)and (3). One can only transfer priority dates FB to FB and EB to EB but not otherwise.

My friend used AC21. He switched jobs after 6 months of filing for 485. He had a query on his 485 seeking experience letters for previous and current employment. He filed those and his 485 approved.

I have a query related to entitlement of salary and back wages. I was laid off by a big MNC software company based in Texas in Oct 2009 . Just in span of 1 week , i was offered a position by desi consulting company starting November 1 . They started my H1 transfer process stating starting date as November 1 on LCA petition . I was told to wait until H1 receipt comes and client gives green signal to start the project.
Even after getting the receipt on 30th November , i was never sent on project neither paid .
I waited till 31st December and left the country on 1st Jan 2010.
What are my rights ? Am i entitled to get the back wages as stated on LCA petition because i was never paid by employer till date ?
What is the duration period i could get the salary ?
Please let me know the process to get my pending salary if i am entitled to get any

What if the case is where I want to take up a new full time position and convert my current full time position to part time.....I guess one way to do it would be to transfer H1 to the new employer...wait for an approval and then file for another concurrent H1 for the part time job with the old company..But the problem is I'd have to wait until new approval comes...and also convince both companies to shell out 2k plus in filing fees....does any one have a better alternative ? Thanks again

I am attending my visa interview next week in one of the Indian consulate. Sometime back I came across a website which lists each persons interview date and there visa status - approved/denied. I am not able to re-collect that link

Today i received my EAD card, It says fingerprint not available. I have not yet received FP notice
Has this happened to anybody else, will i have to update EAD card after FP, how does this work
Filed on July 16th, My checks were cashed on 10th Sep

First EAD will have no fingerprints, since you have not gone through FP.
Its normal. Read other threads.
You will not need to update EADs, renewal next year will take care of this automatically.
Could you please provide some more info on your case...ie. filed with which service center, case transfered or not....Remember this is community site, we share information/knowledge for benefit of each other, Thanks
