Setting my computer to never sleep didn't fix it. I'm not really interested in using another program. TM should work. I'm a little stubborn and once I get something stuck in my craw I just want it to work, but on top of that, I actually LIKE the way TM works (when it works).
It seems like I can consistently get a backup to run right after a reboot but it will inevitably fail after that first backup runs. I've reformatted the drive with no fix other than generating an extremely long initial backup. I've got two drives for offsite rotation and the error occurs with both. The drives weren't bought at the same time and aren't out of the same batch (in fact one is a WD Black and the other is a WD Green) so I'm not thinking its a disk issue.
My computer is less than 90 days old. Should I call Apple?

My question for discussion would be: 1) would you consider buying a used LCD monitor off of ebay?
...No! No warranty, no guarantee of condition.

Seems to me it'd be in the normal place, on the wall behind all that mac stuff. Looks like some shade of grey to me.

It works on my iPad 2. It shows the Netflix red screen on my iPad and then the stream on my TV with the audio coming from my TV. I don't have to do anything special aside from plug the cables in and we're good to go. I don't have any additional display apps on my iPad.

I didn't know you needed a license to be a fake Canadian Driver. (;
Yes, in fact, there's intensive testing involved before acheiving the honor of being a Fake Canadian Driver, it was quite difficult. But I'm more interested in going out for a beer or two while I'm in San Fran in Jan, Man.

I dont understand this hate for QuickTime X. Its designed for video 'playback'. Just like VLC or any other media player.
QUickTime 7 has never been good for me. I tried to export a widescreen video to MPEG4 and it came out as horizontally compressed 4:3.

I'm wondering if you guys think AT&T stores will have long lines of people waiting to get the 4 when it's out for everyone on June 29th? You think it will be like launch day - i.e. you recommend camping out?

I've never found the server healthy enough to watch until 48 hours later anyway. Pity they only put the MW'07 onto the ITS. Perhaps they'll do it with the '08 - so it can download in full and the be watched.

Well they eventually went on sale at midday in NZ (finally).
I ended up queuing up outside Vodafone in St Lukes Westfield Mall. I was the first in the line that began at around 11am with another guy (don't know the name sorry). Ended up being about 30-50 people by midday.
Got myself a nice 32GB on contract.

There are lots of guides I know need to exist, but I don't personally know enough to write them. Should we make a "Requested Guides" page that lets knowledgeable visitors follow the empty link to create the guide?
* Change Root Password
* Adding and Removing Menu items
stuff like that?

Lowest - Concierge
2nd Lowest - hourly sales rep(paid low.. like 10 or 9 an hour)
Middle - Product Specialist
The highest being Genius at almost 20 dollars an hour...
The ABSOLUTE HIGHEST - General Manager of the retail store.. and of course the top is: DISTRICT MANAGER.
It's funny how incorrect that is.

I didn't see one list for Philly so I thought I should represent!
So where are people going to get their Leopard fix?
Springboard Media on Walnut?
Apple Store in KoP?
Apple Store in Ardmore?
Hmm. Im thinking KOP, ardmore will be crowded. Ardmore is closer though. Im not sure yet.

Very nice - this was overdue and definitely needed. I guess Apple is getting everything in order for all the new products they'll be unleashing in the upcoming months. Here's hoping the QC department at Apple didn't fall asleep though, so that these pages won't actually be required that often. If they are, Jobs will not be pleased... ;) :D

Why don't you try one of these many jailbreaks you have "seen online" instead of posting this ridiculous thread, you could even use the search option, I would go as far as to say that it would be front page news on macrumors if it had happened anywhere other than in your imagination!

I actually mean that the keyboard doesn't function for a minute post-wake, and the mouse functions perfectly fine, although the keyboard is seized.
Hmmm, okay, then that isn't normal. :( Sorry...a lot of times people say "minute" and who knows what they mean..... :(
Are you using any special drivers or system modifications? And are you using a wireless network connection or bluetooth devices?

Looks like you're set on the nano.
However, keep in mind that you're not actually getting 4GB. You actually get 3.7GB, so it might be shaving it a little close in your case. There's no way you're going to be able to expand your music library. However, larger capacity nanos will probably be out in a year-ish, so if you're not planning to buy any music until then or if you're willing to constantly swap music on and off, then things can probably work out.
Get a case for it, for sure.

a more helpful answer would be to say that the keynote begins 5pm UK.
(Edit: Beaten to it!)
Well, since you like doing the work of others, I'd like you to search on Google for me for the following then post back the answers for me:
Time continuity theorems
History of pastels in art and culture
Growing apples
...oh wait, or I could do it and not be a lazy slob :D
"give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish (as I did) and he'll eat for the rest of his life"

That's what I was going to say. It's probably got nothing to do with DRM as they allow analog out to work.
HDMI is not an analog signal.
HDCP makes sure the content path is protected and only displayed via approved paths/methods.
If you're sending the output via HDMI, HDCP and DRM will prevent it from working if it fails the DRM check.
The Netflix app simply doesn't allow the stream to be redirected.
Same thing applies to their desktop app and even the app built into many TV's and Blu-Ray players.
The stream can only be sent to a device (TV, Video card, etc.) once it passes HDCP and DRM checks.
Older LCD's will still pass the check if the HDMI interface is secured.
Adapters tend to cause this check to fail.
The old HDTV's with DVI interface's are hit and miss on passing the HDCP check.
