One of these days I'm going to end up getting a TAM....
Hopefully I can find a good deal somewhere; yard sale maybe? Haha.

Just pointing out the cost/benefit ratio. In this case, way too money is spent protecting something that doesn't cost a lot. I see protection for shuffles as a waste of money.

I have five things that could derail Apple:
1) Meteorite strikes 1 Infinite Loop. Steve Jobs is great and all, but let's face it. He's no Apache Chief. The laws of probability say it's just a matter of time until a meteorite crashes into Apple's Cupertino campus. We'll just have to see what happens then.
2) Alien contact brings new technology. Aliens-- we know they're out there. It's only a matter of time before the Government agrees to public disclosure. When that happens the market will be flooded with technology so advanced that nobody will be caught dead using Apple products. Why have an iPhone when you can have a ;3ant409aus.
3) Rick Santelli inspires a whole new anti-Apple political party. They'll takeover congress and the White House and shut Apple down.
4) Data shortage. All those ones and zeros, they come from somewhere. China and Russia is currently buying up much of the worlds resources of the foundation of our digital empire. Soon we may have to switch to twos and threes, but they're more expensive. People won't be able to afford Apple's products anymore.
5) Pack of Tyrannosaurs attack. Yes Apple security is a well-oiled machine, but could they hold their own against a tyrannosaurus rex? I don't think so.
Hire me CNBC! I can write great articles.

A brash thing to say! I'm expecting this to be an inch shy of perfect now.
You should know - nothing is perfect. To expect as much will only lead to dissapointment. ;)

Right now I have a early 2008 17in MBP with a 2.5 GHz C2D, 200 GB HD, and 3 GB of RAM. All I do with it mostly is surf the net and do light video/photo editing.
Applecare is finally running out and will expire in 31 days or so. So, as mentioned in another post, Apple in in the process of changing out the HD with a newer 250 GB cause the other HD was failing.
The system, although it has a 8600 card in it, so far runs well and does what I need it to do. However it going on 3 years, should I upgrade to another 17, or even a 15?
Granted I could sell it to sell your mac, or even Apples recycling program, but should I?
Please let me know what everyone thinks - thanks!

I've got a current model Mac Mini that I'd like to connect to a non-HD television via Component cable. I have an DVI-Mini Display Port adapter which was purchased from a third party as well as a DVI-Component adapter that came with it. Here are some photos:

Aside from a Component cable to connect to the TV, anything else I might need for this to work successfully?
Thanks!

I second Andy McKee and Raul Midon. I would look at somebody like Newton Faulkner. He's big in england and his live set is just him and acoustic rather than with some of the other instruments on the two albums. Maybe City & Colour for something a bit more emo.
Did you mean generally acoustic or instrumental?

I would really like to get that price. I have never sold anything on eBay. How easy is it?
If you sell something on eBay, make sure to include nice, high resolution photos showing the computer and accessories from all different angles. People like pictures.

Yes, the vyper or a case will offer good protection but they are bulky.
They're not bulky. The MBP in the Vyper will still fit easily in another case. Check the outer dimensions of the Vyper and you'll see it's only slightly bigger than the MBP itself.

My english is a little bit rusty but I'll try to explain what I think.
If you only look at this with a financial perspective there is a certain timeframe that within you should choose to either sell or keep. Like with cars and everything else. If you decide to keep past this timeframe you'll have to wait for a longer period of time for it to be financially smart to upgrade, the longer the better.
Having an unstable video card (don't take my word for it, I've just read it here) may point in the direction of upgrading sooner rather than later. If it fails you have no computer and nothing to sell.
At what age this "timeframe" for MBPs is I don't know. I guess it varies from country to country and also depend on the market a lot. Since the apple care is over, I'm guessing a couple of months ago. In my country we have rights beyond apple care (5 years from purchase). If the video card is unlikely to fail and you don't really need to upgrade, then why not simply keep it until it dies? If you're going to get a new MBP within 1-2 years, I'd see how much I could get for it.
I'm not sure if I made myself clear here. I'm always struggling with buying new expensive things myself, especially if I don't really need them. It's all about how much you're willing to pay to get the latest.
Good luck!

The code I provided is only the code that I think could be affecting it.
Ok, Im not positive this is why but I'm pretty sure... in the first line you have 'TRANSITIONAL' capitolized. I changed it on my webpage to caps, and I got errors now too(I really didn't think caps mattered but I'm not up on doctype stuff), so give it a try replacing
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 TRANSITIONAL//EN">
with
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
And also make sure your 'meta' tag is between <head></head> and not right after the !DOCTYPE

I'm excited to get my MacBook Pro (probably this week) and start on it...although the F@H website does not have an Intel version yet.
Would it be possible to run the Linux version on your MBP? Linux and BSD (Which Mac OS X is based on) are very similar.
